Life Cycle Assessment of Boron Industry from Mining to Refined Products

چکیده
Although there are a lot of studies in literature related to the life cycle assessment (LCA) mining, only few done on boron mining industry. This paper presents an LCA industry including extraction, beneficiation, and refinement processes. The main purpose is identify compare environmental impacts associated with production 1 ton refined products (boric acid, borax pentahydrate, decahydrate, sodium perborate) starting from open pit mine located Turkey. inventory (LCI) was obtained data collected sources company’s reports. cradle-to-gate analysis has been carried out using commercial software called SimaPro employing International Reference Life Cycle Data System (ILCD) 2011 Midpoint+ Impact Assessment (LCIA) method. results showed that impact process critical compared beneficiations Sulphuric steam, hydrogen peroxide, perborate which used cause most emission into environment. Among investigated, quite high.

متن کاملDiscovering Life Cycle Assessment Trees using Data Mining
In recent years, environmental sustainability has received widespread attention due to continued depletion of natural resources and degradation of the environment. Life cycle assessment (LCA) is a methodology for quantifying multiple environmental impacts of a product, across its entire life cycle – from creation to use to discard. The key object of interest in LCA is the inventory tree, with t...

In this study, oil was extracted from the liver and visceral fat of Patin (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) and refined. The yield of oil after refining was 49.98%. The major yield loss (34.20%) happened during the degumming procedure. Fatty acids found in the crude and refined oil were C12:0, C14:0, C14:1, C16:0, C16:1, C18:0, C18:1, C18:2, C18:3, C18:4, C20:0, C20:1, C20:4, C20:5, and C22:6. The ...
